Dark Chocolate & Suede, with a hint of smoke...
An Oud that isn't your classic Hindi Assamese, or you typical sought after barn, or what your seasonal connoisseur will call a "fecal oud".
We are talking; sipping on hot cocoa in late fall early winter, on stacks of hay, with the smell of rich leather being dried out in the cold sun, as the the fire pops & crackles afar giving you timely wafts of burning twigs & wood, not to mention the oil pairing perfectly with the crisp (only having you were a leather jacket) climate.
The opening olfactory experience of this oil is that of brie; rich, buttery, fruity, and increasingly woody with age, a very minimal transitionary period, many will construe it to Manuka honey, as do the distillers.
Once applied, it soon develops into a gentle bouquet of stewed fruits and warm custard, strengthened by a incensy slightly (just the perfect amount of) smoky sturdiness. The bridge then leads to a rich barley tobacco with milky bitter/ sweet chocolate & a leathery development.
It has elements of the finest sinking grade chips, from a 60 year old tree giving it a deep incense vibe and with a traditional steel pot distillation, a very comforting suede'ish aroma is nicely dominant.
